The Protector

Sir William, known as Court, keenly feels his lack of status as a seneschal, tasked with running a castle that does not belong to him. When one of the king’s regents offers him land and a title in exchange for storming a strategic castle in the borderlands, he quickly accepts.

Before he can lead the attack, Court is inexplicably drawn to the enchanted fairy pools of Scotland, where he takes possession of a powerful stone. Though he knows nothing of its legend, he senses it will aid him in what lies ahead. There is only one problem. The stone has a sworn protector who will do anything to reclaim it, and Court soon discovers she is not easily denied.
